How to Explain Wealth Redistribution to a Kid
Bill Dyer, aka Beldar, helps his daughter understand what it really means to redistribute to others what one has worked hard to earn.
“What will probably be your best grade?” I asked.
“Guitar,” she said, “That will probably be a 97 or a 98.”
“Cool,” I said. “You really have been successful. But I think you should tell your Guitar teacher that you want to give six or seven of those points to some of your classmates who haven’t practiced so hard or don’t have the talent you have.”
She looked up at me, startled. “What?”
“That class is easy for you, and you have lots more points than you need for an A. They need those points more than you do,” I explained.
“Then they should have worked harder!” she protested.

Spoiler Alert: Presidential Election Winner Declared
Barack Obama has won the election and will become the 44th president of the United States in January.
So sayeth the editors of The New Mexico Sun News. More than a week before the presidential election, the liberal paper published an article declaring Obama the winner.
The papers are popular because of the headline. It reads “Obama Wins!”
The admittedly left-leaning publication is calling the election a week early because it supports Obama and because the bi-monthly paper will not be published again until well after the election.
The article does, however, remind all people to vote even though, in their words, “(They) did spoil the ending for you.”
Congratulations to The Sun News for hatching a short-sighted plot to improve their circulation for a single issue. They can’t keep the papers on the stands and It’s just as well. New Mexicans will need something to line their hamster cages next week.
Free Elisabeth Hasselbeck!
When the McCain campaign sequestered Sarah Palin from the mainstream media immediately after her stellar national debut, they received a well deserved skewering by conservative commentators who pleaded with her handlers to free Sarah Palin, to let her be authentic and unrestrained. After watching Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s performance at a Palin rally last weekend, I hope her agent will heed the same advice: Free Elisabeth!
And here’s some further proof that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a force to be reckoned with: feminists are blaming the speech for filling their minds with violent thoughts and driving them to hit the bottle. Seriously, read the comments at Jezebel.
Do I want more Elisabeth unleashed? Hell yeah, but let’s skip the usual side order of tiresome clucking hens doing their damnedest to drown out Elisabeth’s sharp and sassy wit.
Let Elisabeth be Elisabeth.

ATF Disrupts Vile Neo-Nazis in Plot to Massacre Black School Kids and Assassinate Obama
Breaking news: neo-Nazi skinheads are vile, cretinous scum who dream of genocide.
OK, OK, there’s more to this particular breaking story. The ATF caught a pair of white supremacist morons plotting the massacre of dozens of kids at a predominantly African-American school. The attack on black school children was to be followed up by an assassination attempt on Barack Obama.
Bloomberg reports:
Federal agents in Tennessee broke up what they called a plot by two men identifying themselves as white supremacists to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as part of a “killing spree” of black people.
The two suspects, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tennessee, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Arkansas, were accused of discussing a plan to rob a gun dealer of weapons and ammunition and commit murders at a predominantly black school, Lawrence J. Laurenzi, the U.S. attorney for western Tennessee, said in a statement.
The suspects’ “final act of violence” would be an attempt to kill Obama during which they both expressed a willingness to die, the statement said. The two men told authorities they planned to wear white tuxedos and top hats while carrying out the assassination, according to court papers.
This report turns my stomach. Luckily the Feds disrupted these imbeciles before they could carry out their plot. The Smoking Gun has a copy of the federal complaint (via Hot Air, where Allahpundit has more).
Is it too much to hope that everyone can avoid politicizing the deplorable behavior of these two scumbags during the final days of the election?
Obama, Obama, He Stole My Pajamas

Obamaween is the new Americana.

Ashley Todd Isn’t a Republican!
Awesome: turns out that Ashely Todd, the despicable, self-absorbed racist who falsely accused a black man of carving a “B” into her face, is a Ron Paul nut, not a McCain supporter. Ron Paul, as you know, is the Alex Jones loving congressman who dropped out of the presidential race earlier this year. His supporters are generally crackpots, not Republicans, and his campaign attracted “an imposing collection of Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, Holocaust Deniers, 9/11 “Truthers” and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists.”
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports on Ashley Todd’s connection to Ron Paul and his nutty disciples:
In March, Ms. Todd was asked to leave a grass-roots group of Ron Paul supporters in Brazos County, Texas, group leader Dustan Costine said. He said Ms. Todd posed as a supporter of former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and called the local Republican committee seeking information about its campaign strategies.
“She would call the opposing campaign and pretend she was on their campaign to get information,” Mr. Costine said last night. “We had to remove her because of the tactics she displayed. After that we had nothing to do with her.”
About a month earlier, he said, Ms. Todd sent an e-mail to the Ron Paul group saying her tires were slashed and that campaign paraphernalia had been stolen from her car because she supported Mr. Paul.
“She’s the type of person who wants to be recognized,” Mr. Costine said.
Like Ron Paul and his minions, Ms. Todd is a distraction from the seriousness of this election season. Whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or an independent, don’t allow her hateful, deplorable actions to further distract from the final days of the campaigns. Focus on learning as much as you can about John McCain and Barack Obama, and make sure your vote is something you won’t regret later.
